Printing with Bleeds

To have an image bleed off the edge of a page correctly (both commercially in your own prints) you need to print “extra image” outside of the page size (or final trim size).

Bleed-vs.-No-Bleed

This is two-step process:

  1. Physically “pull your bleed” by opening the image box into the pasteboard area.

2. Now tell the printer to print that “extra image”.
Choose to print with bleeds and crop marks (so you know where to trim edges) in the print dialogue box as below:
